It is quiet end of Summer warm, as the days begin to turn into Fall, with
copious produce offerings at the markets and a happy Summer at Tea at Tympani

What are we eating at Tea at Tympani Lane Records?
Love organic, everything baked goods without preservatives, fresh fruits and vegetables and cooking with butter and wine.
Food shakes – fruit and vegetables and orange juice and almond milk and yogurt. Any fruit and English cucumbers or zucchini and/or carrots or red pepper. And nuts or buckwheat or flax seed.
Samosas. Curry vegetables in pastry served with plain yogurt and plum sauce.
Spinach Pie in filo pastry.
Spaghetti – cold as pasta and Pesto salad (with bacon) in Summer. And batches of homemade spaghetti sauce with homemade meatballs, fresh basil, fresh oregano, fresh rosemary and Italian red wine in Winter. Lasagna, cheese lasagna, tomato and cheese lasagna anytime.
Any dessert warmed with marshmallows on top. Particularly good is chocolate chip cookie dough topped with marshmallows and baked in the oven. Or any baked goods you are making, just chop up some marshmallows, place on top and bake.
Ice Cream. Butterscotch ripple or chocolate brownie, anything Haagen Dazs.
Bran muffins with molasses and seeds, nuts, zucchini, fruit, raisins and coconut.
Butter Cake and butter/sugar cookies. Brown sugar and molasses cookies.
Toast (favourite toasted ciabatta bun with butter) and coffee (cappuccino – espresso, half almond milk, cinnamon and honey or brown sugar).
Sprouts – different kind of bean sprouts, a beautiful, exciting food. Sprouts with vinaigrette, in soups and sandwiches. Beautiful magical, healthy food. Different beans produce different flavours of green. Found them at a table at the local Occupy Movement People’s Kitchen. www.tinyurl.com/germination101.
It’s healthier for the planet to be vegetarian, eating vegetables uses less fresh water, is good for your health, saves on grain fed to cattle/animals as food that could be sent to places with food security issues, Africa.
(Meat in moderation, I would love to be vegetarian I think it is very healthy but meat once a week or once a month is not such a bad thing and can keep your spirits up, organic meat).
Roast Chicken – warm with chips, Club sandwiches (tomatoes, bacon, chicken and mayonnaise) and chicken soup (with rice and vegetables). Good in Summer.
Bacon – almost any meat wrapped and cooked in bacon. Bacon chocolate chip cookies sounds good but we haven’t tried them. Meat as candy.
Smoked Salmon – occasionally lox and bagels with cream cheese.
It’s a great idea to buy a part of the harvest from an organic farm. They will send baskets of vegetables, herbs and fruit to drop off points in the city.
