Tea at Tympani Lane Records

World Message of Peace

It is bright heat and sunshine evening in the season of the Summer Equinox at Tea at Tympani Lane Records. We need to purchase more books from the printer to offer for the "Poetry in the Metro" reading series this Summer 2016. We will be down in the Metro performing Spoken Word every couple of weeks, so come by, meet the Oracle, books of poetry will be on sale for half the price of Amazon Station. Considering taking up quilting again, a few projects that should be finished. A new book of poetry writing, "La Republique de Bleu" will be written in both French and English.

"When I am putting looks together, I dare myself to make something work. I always look for the most interesting silhouette or something that's a little off, but I have to figure it out. I have to make it me. I think that's the thrill in fashion."
- Rihanna (Singer, Songwriter, Diva)

"I was the girl who nobody thought would ever get married. I was going to be a fashion nun the rest of my life. There are generations of them, those fashion nuns, living, eating, breathing clothes."
- Vera Wang (Fashion Designer)

heat, heat, heat . . . Summer and poetry. the dance of summer clothes . . . what are we wearing at Tea at Tympani Lane Records?

maxi dresses . . . big long full sweeping maxi dresses, blue and favourite colours, sometimes in layers. the under dress goes to the floor, the overdress is just a bit shorter, sometimes split up the middle or up the side. and for going downtown with a big silk scarf draped over the head . . . big scarves go with everything . . . keep the sun off, good for cooler evenings and look smashing.

the colour story . . . midnight blue, French blue, dark blue-green . . . dark blue with warm yellow . . . the new favourite colour, the colour of pomegranates, fantastically dark pink. (a new book of poetry "The Colour of Pomegranates" coming to Amazon Station in the new year).

best buys over the Internet . . . Holy Clothing. large sweeping dresses in airplane silk viscose, with embroidery, ethically made in India. if you are petite there is a China story, dresses, dresses, and more dresses for next to nothing monies.

local ateliers Value Village, Renaissance, the Salvation Army offer great finds on secondhand clothes, favourite colours, favourite styles, mix and match. save for a large first run item and put it all together with camisoles, sweaters, jeans from your favourite Sallie Anne.

falling out of love and falling in love again . . . sometimes you have a favourite piece of clothing, you wear it everywhere and you get tired of it, but it's your favourite . . . so put it in the back of the closet, wrap it up in a sac and hide it from yourself for awhile. then a couple of seasons later, take it out again and pare it with a new dress, some new tights, a new scarf until it is special again . . . love is back!

keeping my eye out for anything in that fantastical dark pink . . . sweet, Summer. poetry and dance.

Love,

Rebecca
